WABA U17: Week 3 Begins in Zagreb Ahead of Sofia and Banja Luka

The excitement is building as Zagreb prepares to host the first of three highly anticipated WABA U17 Week 3 tournaments this Saturday and Sunday.

In an expanded schedule designed to showcase the region’s top youth basketball talent, the Week 3 segment of the league will be played on different dates and at different locations between November 7th and November 15th, with the Croatian capital setting the stage for the opening round.

Four competitive teams from Group A are heading to Zagreb for this opening tournament.  Maribor enters the weekend with a perfect 3-0 record, the group’s only undefeated team. They will face a fierce challenge from the Italian side, Futurosa #Forna Basket Trieste, who sit close behind at 3-1 and are locked in for a thrilling Sunday showdown as they directly challenge Maribor. Joining them in Zagreb are Triglav, a tough Slovenian competitor with a solid 3-2 record, and the local hosts, Studio Zagreb, who are looking to use their home-court advantage to bounce back from their current 1-4 record.

After the games in Zagreb, Week 3 action will move to other regional hubs. The remaining tournaments are scheduled for Sofia, Bulgaria, on November 12th and 13th, followed by the final round of matches in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on November 14th and 15th.
