WABA U17 sa 20 klubova
Za 15.sezonu WABA U17 lige je prijavljeno ukupno 20 klubova iz sedam zemalja.
Prvi deo će se jednokružno u skupinama sa po 10 ekipa igrati do kraja godine. Superliga sa po četiri najbolje ekipe iz obje skupine te lige za plasman od 9.do 20.mjesta (ekipe od 5.mjesta grupne faze dalje) su planirani za drugu polovinu I.mjeseca 2026.godine.
Sezona završava turnirom Final-Four.
Aktualni prvak Janina se nije prijavio za WABA U17 ligu 2026/27.
Prvi puta WABA ligu igraju Realway iz Sarajeva (BiH), Virovitica iz Virovitice (Hrvatska) i Champ Academy iz Kranja (Slovenija)
Ostali prijavljeni klubovi su: Feniks, Konjic, OKK Zenica, Posušje, Zrinjski 2010 (BiH), Champion 2006, Rilski Sportist, Septemvri 97 (Bugarska), Budućnost Bemax (Crna Gora), Studio Zagreb (Hrvatska), Futurosa #Forna (Italija), Cinkarna Celje, Ježica, Maribor, Triglav (Slovenija), Partizan 1953 i UZKK Student (Srbija).
WABA U17 League: 20 Clubs From Seven Countries Registered for the 15th Season
The WABA U17 League has locked in its lineup for the milestone 2026/27 season, drawing a massive field of 20 clubs representing 7 different countries.
Competitive Format & Timeline
The Regular Season: The opening phase will see the 20 teams divided into two single-round robin groups of 10 teams each. Group play will run through until the end of 2026.
The Post-Season: Scheduled for the second half of January 2027, the field will split into secondary competitive tiers based on group standings:
The Superleague: Featuring the top 4 teams from both primary groups battling for championship positioning.
Classification Bracket: A separate placement league for teams finishing 5th or lower in the group stage to determine final rankings from 9th to 20th place.
The Finale: The 15th anniversary season will wrap up with a high-stakes Final-Four tournament to crown the junior regional champion.
Key Roster Changes and New Additions
In a major twist for the upcoming campaign, the reigning U17 champions Janina (Slovenia) have chosen not to register for the 2026/27 season, leaving the regional throne completely up for grabs.
Meanwhile, the tournament expands its footprint by welcoming three debutant clubs making their first-ever appearances in the WABA league system:
Realway of Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
Virovitica of Virovitica (Croatia)
Champ Academy of Kranj (Slovenia)
The remaining field is packed with highly experienced returning powerhouses and regular contenders:
Bosnia and Herzegovina: Feniks, Konjic, OKK Zenica, Posusje, and Zrinjski 2010.
Bulgaria: Champion 2006, Rilski Sportist, and Septemvri 97.
Croatia: Studio Zagreb.
Italy: Futurosa Forna.
Montenegro: Buducnost Bemax.
