Montana 2003 Hits the Century Mark in points in Dominant Victory

Defending champion Montana 2003 delivered a statement performance in their opening game of the 2026-27 WABA season, securing a commanding 100-68 victory against Studio Zagreb. The Bulgarian side controlled the tempo from start to finish, showcasing an impressive offensive display that culminated in a historic milestone.

Montana 2003 grabbed the lead right from the opening tip and never looked back. Montana 2003 took absolute control early, breaking into a double-digit lead for the first time in the 14th minute at 44-33. While Studio Zagreb put up a resilient fight in the first half to stay within striking distance, the hosts completely blew the game open immediately after the break. Montana came out of the locker room firing, unleashing a devastating 15-3 run in the opening minutes of the second half to push the score to a comfortable 70-51 and effectively crush any hopes of a Croatian comeback.

The night’s defining moment came in the final minute. Borislava Dencheva drilled a three-pointer in the final minute to seal the 100th point for Montana 2003. This marked the first time the Bulgarian powerhouse scored 100 or more points in a WABA League game since November 29, 2023, when they defeated RMU Banovici 110-48. Furthermore, in Montana’s illustrious 11-year history in the regional competition, this stands as their sixth total century-mark game.

Montana 2003 was spearheaded by an incredibly efficient performance from Daniela Wallen, who racked up a game-high 28 points while shooting a spectacular 7/8 from two-point range and 3/4 from beyond the arc, leading the floor with an efficiency rating of 33. Ndioma Kane supported her with 19 points and 6 rebounds, and Radostina Hristova added 13 points off the bench. Patricia Bura anchored the paint with 12 points and 6 rebounds.

For Studio Zagreb, Lea Gojkovic fought valiantly with a team-high 22 points, including an efficient 4-of-6 from three, while Blaza Ceh added 15 points in the losing effort.

Ultimately, Montana’s overwhelming statistical dominance proved to be the difference maker. The hosts vastly out-rebounded Studio Zagreb (46 to 28) and put on a shooting clinic inside the arc, converting 67% of their two-point field goals (31/46) compared to Zagreb’s 40%, ensuring a comfortable and memorable night in front of their home fans.
