Can Exhausted Zagreb Defy the Odds in Samokov?

A new WABA League challenge awaits the Studio Zagreb women’s basketball team. They continue their away trip in Bulgaria at the Arena Samokov with a match against BC Rilski Sportist.

Last season, both teams shared a bizarre trend where neither could protect their home court, both losing their respective home games in the head-to-head series.

Studio Zagreb took a 66-59 victory in Samokov, while Rilski Sportist completely in Croatia with a resounding 97-78 win. Both sides will look to break that pattern, but the circumstances heavily favor the hosts this time around.

The biggest storyline heading into this clash is the grueling schedule for the Croatian side. Studio Zagreb is playing two high-intensity road games in less than 24 hours. Their mini Bulgarian tour began on Friday evening with a tough away game against Montana 2003 (68-100).

With almost zero recovery time and a quick transit across the country, exhaustion will undoubtedly be their biggest enemy.
