Rilski Sportist Secures First Foreign Reinforcement with Marie Kenembeni

Rilski Sportist signed Cameroonian forward Marie Kenembeni (182 cm, 2004) as their first international addition for the upcoming season.

She arrives fresh from the US collegiate system, bringing substantial power, rebounding, and versatility to the Bulgarian squad ahead of their domestic and regional campaigns.

Kenembeni developed her skills at the Onyx Basketball Academy in her native Cameroon, where she earned three MVP awards during her youth career. She then moved to the United States, starting her college career at Angelina College (JUCO). Her steady development led to a transfer to NCAA Division I, where she played first for Old Dominion University (ODU) before finishing with a standout senior season at Nicholls State University.

In her final year with the Nicholls Colonels, Kenembeni played in 31 games (starting 17), establishing herself as one of the team’s primary offensive options. She averaged 9.9 points and 4.4 rebounds in just 19.7 minutes per game. Her defensive presence was equally impactful, contributing 1.1 steals and 0.8 blocks per contest.
