Buducnost Bemax inks Elise Ramette, and Chantae Embry

The four-time WABA Champion Buducnost Bemax announced their first two major signings for the upcoming season: Belgian national team guard Elise Ramette (177 cm, 1998) and American forward Chantae Embry (185 cm, 2002).

Elise Ramette is an accomplished international playmaker who recently represented Belgium at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics. A core member of the Belgian national team, Ramette played a key role in securing back-to-back gold medals at EuroBasket Women 2023 and EuroBasket Women 2025.

She developed her skills in her native Belgium, starting with her youth and early senior career at Blue Cats Ieper (2006–2015), before moving on to BBC Jeugd Gentson (2015–2017) and BBC Sint-Katelijne-Waver (2017–2020). She then reached the top level of Belgian basketball with Royal Castors Braine (2020–2022). Ramette spent the last four seasons competing at the highest level in Spain’s top division (LF Endesa), first playing two years for Cadí la Seu (2022–2024) and most recently representing Club Joventut Badalona (2024–2026). During the 2025/2026 season with Joventut Badalona, she averaged 21.6 minutes, 3.2 points, 1.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.

Chantae Embry began her basketball journey in the United States, starting her NCAA Division I career with the Texas Tech Lady Raiders (2021–2022) before transferring to Southern Methodist University (SMU), where she suited up for the SMU Mustangs from 2022 to 2025. At SMU, Embry developed into a team captain and offensive powerhouse, averaging 11.7 points and 6.9 rebounds per game in her senior year against elite ACC competition.

After graduating, she moved to the professional European stage and spent last season in Turkey with Yalova VIP in the TKBL (2nd tier). In Turkey, Embry established herself as a dominant force and the team’s top scorer, putting up explosive numbers across 25 games. She averaged an impressive 20.0 points, 11.9 rebounds (4th in the league), 2.6 assists, and 1.3 steals per game.
