Celje quickly found their rhythm and completely took control of the match. Striking with full force, they went on an incredible scoring run, which included 24 consecutive points. By the middle of the second quarter, Celje had built an insurmountable 46-8 advantage, effectively sealing the game before halftime.

It was an ultimate team effort for the Slovenian side. An incredible stat from the game shows that all 12 players who stepped onto the court scored at least two points, and every single player recorded at least one rebound.

Nea Mlinaric led visitors with 17 points, followed closely by Julija Flajnik, who provided an incredible spark off the bench, adding 15 points while shooting a perfect 6-for-6 from the free-throw line. Aljasa Sodin orchestrated the offense with a game-high 8 assists, matched Mlinaric with 7 steals, and added 8 points. In the paint, Zoja Kump anchored the defense with 9 rebounds, the team high.

For the home side, Viktorija Maljak carried the heaviest offensive load, finishing as the team’s only double-digit scorer with 12 points on an efficient 3-of-4 inside the arc. On the boards, Lavinia Subota put on a warrior-like performance, pulling down a game-high 12 rebounds (10 defensive) and scoring 7 points.

Ultimately, Virovitica struggled against Celje’s suffocating defense, which forced 25 costly turnovers and limited their shooting to just 28% from two-point range and a tough 7% from beyond the arc.
