Cinkarna Celje-Rovinj 60-38 (17-6, 14-10, 15-10, 14-12) FULL STATS
The opening game marked a historic moment as Croatia’s Rovinj made their first-ever appearance in the competition. However, Cinkarna Celje proved too strong for the debutants, blitzing out of the gates with an 8-0 run to start the match.
Rovinj struggled heavily against Celje’s relentless defensive pressure, which forced 36 turnovers. By the 12th minute, Cinkarna Celje had turned their momentum into a commanding 21-6 lead, effectively sealing the game. Ajda Praper led the early surge, reaching 10 points as her team built a 15-point cushion.
Praper finished with a monstrous double-double, scoring 16 points and grabbing 13 rebounds on an efficient 8-of-9 (89%) shooting night (game-high 37 EFF). Deja Dunovic added 20 points for the victors, while Uma Kotnik grabbed 15 rebounds. Rovinj showed great character in the second half, led by Laura Rojnic (10 points) and Maria Rojnic (9 points), but Celje’s depth and 54-42 rebounding advantage secured the comfortable win.
Arx Crikvenica-Futurosa #Forna 53-59 (13-16, 12-20, 15-13, 13-10) FULL STATS
An extraordinary, unconventional battle followed, as Futurosa Trieste relied on heavy interior scoring to hand host team Arx Crikvenica a narrow defeat.
Futurosa took charge in the first half with explosive scoring runs. They unleashed a 10-0 run to jump to 12-6, then repeated the feat to push the lead to 29-16. Arx Crikvenica mounted a furious comeback in the final quarter, riding the home crowd’s energy to slice the deficit to just 6 points in the closing minutes, but they ultimately ran out of time.
The final box score revealed bizarre statistical extremes. Futurosa won the game without making a single three-pointer (0-of-18) while committing a staggering 36 turnovers. They offset this by shooting 50% from the 2-point range and out-rebounding the hosts 61-49. Arx Crikvenica struggled from beyond the arc; ten players attempted a three-pointer, but only two made it (Matea Buric 3-of-10, Lucija Davidovic 1-of-4), finishing a cold 4-of-37 (11%) from deep.
Camilla Sturm led Futurosa with 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Micol Pribac added 19 points. Matea Buric fought valiantly for all 40 minutes to lead Crikvenica with 20 points, supported by Vita Turina‘s 16.
