WABA Title Hunt Begins: Champions Montana 2003 Host Studio Zagreb

The hunt for the regional crown is officially open! The reigning WABA League champions, Montan 2003, are ready to step back onto the court and defend their title. Their first challenge of the new season comes on home soil against Studio Zagreb.

Studio Zagreb arrives with a major reinforcement—triple WABA League champion Blaza Ceh , who is set to lead the Croatian side this season.

Historically, these two teams have faced each other six times. While Studio Zagreb tasted victory once in November 2022, they have never won a game in Bulgaria, making home-court advantage a major factor for the titleholders.

The Bulgarian champions have done an excellent job retaining the core of the team that captured the 2026 WABA League trophy. Most notably, they have secured the services of their stellar Venezuelan international, Daniela Wallen, who enters her third consecutive season with the club.

To make things even more exciting for the home fans, Montana 2003 has heavily upgraded its roster. Headlining the new arrivals is Ndioma Kane, the dominant forward who was crowned MVP of the WABA League 2025/26 regular season while playing for Cinkarna Celje.
