Tresnjevka 2009 powers up for WABA return: Tetiana Tkachenko signs as the third reinforcement

Following a one-year absence, Croatian club Tresnjevka 2009 is actively shaping its roster for a highly anticipated return to the WABA League. The Zagreb-based club has announced its third major reinforcement for the upcoming competitive cycle: Ukrainian power forward/center Tetiana Tkachenko (190 cm, 2004).

Tkachenko spent the 2025–26 season playing in the United States, representing the VCU Rams (Virginia Commonwealth University) in the highly competitive NCAA Division I.

During her campaign with the Rams, she appeared in 29 games and entered the starting lineup 13 times. Over an average of 10.9 minutes per game, Tkachenko contributed 2.2 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 0.7 assists per contest, while shooting an efficient 41.3% from the field.

Before venturing into collegiate and regional competitions, Tkachenko proved her skills in elite European environments. She played professionally in Germany’s top women’s basketball division (DBBL) for Herner TC.

Tkachenko represented Ukraine at various youth levels, including the FIBA U18 European Challengers and the Ukraine U20 National Team.
