Povratak Kaitlyn Mathieu
Druga skakačica WABA lige 2016-17 se je vratila u regionalno natjecanje, nakon što je Amerikanka Kaitlyn Mathieu (188 cm, 1992) potpisala jednogodišnji ugovor sa bugarskim prvakom Montana 2003.
Mathieu dolazi iz danskog kluba Lemvig, za koji je u prošloj sezoni u Damenligaen odigrala 13 utakmica uz prosjeke od 8.5 poena, 7.7 skokova, 2.3 asistencija, 1.2 osvojenih lopti i 1.0 blokada.
U WABA ligi je igrala u sezoni 2016-17 za makedonski klub Badel 1862 te je na 8 utakmica grupnog dijela natjecanja u prosjeku ostvarivala po 12.5 poena, 10.5 skokova, 1.6 asistencija, 1.5 osvojenih lopti i 0.5 blokada.
Mathieu je studentsku košarku u NCAA ligi od 2010. do 2014. godine igrala za William & Mary, a zatim profesionalno u Europi. U Danskoj, Makedoniju te još u Njemačkoj (TK Hannover) i Luksemburgu (T71 Dudelange).
Nove igračice Montane 2003 su još mlada reprezentativka Preslava Koleva (189 cm, 1999) i juniorka Konstantina Kakogiani (175 cm, 2001).
Koleva dolazi iz Rilskog Sportista. U prvenstvu Bugarske je lani zaigrala na 27 utakmica sa prosjecima od 4.3 poena, 5.1 skokova, 0.7 asistencija, 0.4 osvojenih lopti i 0.3 blokada, dok je na Europskom prvenstvu za mlade u 6 nastupa upisivala po 1.6 poena i 1.4 skokova po utakmici.
Kakogiani je lani za Septemvri 97 zaigrala na 6 utakmica prvenstva Bugarske te imala prosjeke od 17.7 poena, 3.8 skokova, 5.0 asistencija i 3.5 osvojenih lopti.
Već prije je u Montanu 2003 za predstojeću sezonu 2018/19 došla i bivša ukrajinska reprezentativka Olga Dubrovina-Dančeva (170 cm, 1989).

Kaitlyn Mathieu returns to WABA, joins Montana 2003
A 2016-17 WABA League’s second-ranked rebounder returned to the competiton as Bulgarian champion Montana 2003 announced the arrival of American center Kaitlyn Mathieu (188 cm, 1992), who inked a one-year deal.
Mathieu arrives from Danish side Lemvig, where she averaged 8.5 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.0 blocks in 13 Damenligaen games last season. She has already played in WABA League during the 2016-17 season with Macedonian side Badel 1862, averaging 12.5 points, 10.5 rebounds (ranked second), 1.6 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.5 blocks in 8 Group stage games.
Matthieu played college basketball at William & Mary from 2010 through 2014 before playing professionally in Europe. She was a member of TK Hannover in Germany and T71 Dudelange in Luxembourg, too.
Montana has already inked Bulgarian U20 National team member Preslava Koleva (189 cm, 1999) and Konstantina Kakogiani (175 cm, 2001).
Koleva arrives from Rilski Sportist, for whom she averaged 4.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 0.7 assists, 0.4 steals and 0.3 blocks in 27 Bulgarian league games last season. She spent this summer representing Bulgaria at the U20 European Championship Division B, averaging 1.6 points and 1.4 rebounds in six games.
Kakogiani spent last season with Septemvri 97, where she produced 17.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.5 steals per game in six appearances.
New member of the Montana 2003 squad for the upcoming 2018-19 season is also former Ukrainian National team member Olga Dubrovina-Dancheva (170 cm, 1989), who signed her contract in June.
