Partizan 1953 lands Jess Lawson as first reinforcement for the new season

Partizan 1953 secures its first big signing for the upcoming season, bringing in the versatile American guard Jess Lawson (170 cm, 2002).

She arrives from Loyola Marymount Lions, for whom she played in 30 out of 31 games and spearheaded the team’s historic campaign by averaging 15.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.2 steals per game, while shooting 42.5% from the field and 37.2% from beyond the arc. With her proven ability to dominate the boards—highlighted by a career-high 21-rebound game and 9 double-doubles in her final year—Lawson is expected to be a major force in the WABA League, adding veteran poise and a championship mentality to Partizan 1953’s backcourt.

Lawson started her college journey at Cochise College, earning NJCAA All-Star freshman honors. At the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS), she broke the program’s single-season scoring record with 478 points. At Central Michigan University (CMU), she continued her high-level play, recording a historic triple-double and setting single-season program records in points, steals, and field goals made while earning All-GLVC First Team honors. She spent her final stellar collegiate chapter with the Loyola Marymount (LMU) Lions, driving the team to a historic West Coast Conference (WCC) Regular Season Championship.
