Početak nove ere WABA liga sa Superligom sa osam klubova je obeležila Carel Allen (181 cm, 1986) iz redova bugarskog prvaka Montane 2003 koja je najkorisnija igračica (MVP) januara u sezoni 2016-17.

Allen je u januaru odigrala dve utakmice i imala prosek od 19.5 poena, po 7.5 skokova i asistencija, 1.5 osvojenih lopti i 0.5 blokada, sa šutom za dva poena 83.3 %, za tri 50.0% i slobodna bacanja 77.8%.

Amerikanka je mesec u ukupnom poretku završila kao najbolji asistent WABA lige sa prosekom 6.1 dodavanja po utakmici, sedma je po poenima (14.3) i skokovima (7.0) te druga po valorizaciji (19.9).

By the time January was finished, Allen had accumulated averages of 19.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 0.5 blocks, while hitting 83.3% of her two-pointer, 50.0% on threes and 77.8% at the free throw line during two games.

American guard finished the month sitting first in the full-season rankings for WABA League in assists with 6.1 averaged, seventh in scorers (14.3) and rebounders (7.0) and second in index performance (19.9).
