2026-27 WABA U15 League

Week 1, Day 2 (October 3)
Group A – Maribor (Tabor)

Maribor-Tresnjevka 2009 58-37 (17-4, 13-14, 11-13, 17-6)   FULL STATS

Maribor earned a decisive 58-37 victory in a matchup defined by absolute paint dominance and relentless offensive rebounding. Despite struggling significantly from long range, Maribor’s control of the glass and second-chance opportunities ultimately wore down their opponents.

Maribor had an extremely tough night from beyond the arc, converting just 9% of their three-pointers (3/33). However, they completely overwhelmed Tresnjevka 2009 on the boards, winning the total rebound battle 47 to 42, highlighted by an astonishing 29 offensive rebounds.

Three players drove Maribor’s offense: Belma Memic led the team with 14 points, plus 5 rebounds and 2 assists; Meta Besedic delivered an efficient all-around game with 13 points and 6 rebounds; and Lara Skandali matched Besedic with 13 points and 5 rebounds. Zala Visic anchored the interior defense, anchoring the glass with a team-high 11 rebounds.

Tresnjevka 2009 struggled heavily to establish their offense, heavily plagued by 44 turnovers against Maribor’s active defense. While they shot a respectable 46% from two-point range (17/37), they lacked an outside game, going 0 for 5 from three and shooting just 33% from the free-throw line (3/9). Ljubica Novosel was the only player in double digits, scoring 12 points off the bench.

Cinkarna Celje-Janina 64-82 (19-24, 12-17, 23-25, 10-16)   FULL STATS

The decisive factor in the matchup was Janina’s lethal offensive efficiency and total dominance on the glass, out-rebounding Celje 58 to 38 while posting a massive 105-to-57 team efficiency advantage.

Janina found success inside and out, connecting on 55% of their two-pointers (23/42) and knocking down 11 three-pointers at 33%. A balanced offensive attack propelled them to victory: Anabela Krumpak delivered a stellar double-double, registering 18 points and 10 rebounds; Mia Skubic spearheaded the interior offense, matching Krumpak with 18 points and falling just short of a double-double with 9 rebounds; Nika Skale provided excellent spacing, hitting 4 triples on her way to 16 points and 7 rebounds; Amanda Vreze contributed crucially off the bench, adding 10 points and 7 rebounds.

Cinkarna Celje struggled to find consistent offensive flow, except for a monumental performance from Ajda Praper. Praper carried her team with a spectacular double-double, exploding for a game-high 28 points, 14 rebounds, and 8 steals. Despite her heroic efforts, Celje’s overall shooting let them down, as the team shot just 38% inside the arc and a low 21% from three (5/24). Deja Dunovic and Anaja Zagorc reached double digits with 13 and 10 points respectively, but it was not enough to match Janina’s firepower.

Group A – San Martino di Lupari (PalaLupe)

Futurosa #Forna-Ježica 49-76 (13-15, 12-20, 6-24, 18-17)   FULL STATS

The story of the game lay in Jezica’s massive 84 to 27 team efficiency advantage and superior inside presence, which completely overwhelmed Futurosa’s defense.

Jezica excelled inside the arc, converting 42% of their two-pointers (20/48) and drawing heavy contact to earn 40 free-throw attempts, making 24 of them (60%). A well-rounded team effort powered their offense: Sara Hiti put on a spectacular, all-around display, registering a double-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and a game-high 7 assists. Ana Todorovic anchored the paint, adding 12 points by making a living at the charity stripe (8/16 FT). Tea Simovic provided great efficiency off the bench, scoring 11 points on 5-of-8 shooting inside the arc. Teodora Radic and Ema Triller also reached double figures, contributing 10 points and 11 points respectively, while Viktorija Jovanov anchored the boards with a team-high 13 rebounds.

Futurosa #Forna struggled heavily to find their rhythm all night, shooting a poor 27% from two-point range (14/51) and turning the ball over 34 times. Camilla Sturm carried the load for the visitors, scoring a game-high 18 points and grabbing 10 rebounds for a double-double. Elisa Rezzano added 10 points and 9 rebounds, but Futurosa’s lack of ball movement (only 9 team assists) and constant defensive breakdowns neutralized their individual efforts.

San Martino-Arx Crikvenica 62-74 (18-18, 13-18, 13-20, 18-18)   FULL STATS

Arx Crikvenica showed excellent balance inside and outside the arc, fueled by three spectacular individual efforts: Matea Buric put on a masterclass, playing all 40 minutes and leading all scorers with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Ema Kikic anchored the paint with an elite double-double, exploding on the glass for a game-high 19 rebounds and 15 points. Vita Turina matched the 40-minute endurance effort, contributing across the board with 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. Lara Vuleta added another double-double for the winning side, finishing with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

San Martino fought hard inside, taking 68 two-point attempts (25-for-68, 37%). However, their offense became one-dimensional as they went a frigid 1-for-9 from three (11%) and struggled to answer Arx Crikvenica’s size. Alice Argentiero led San Martino with a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Anna Frigo chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Despite their hustle, San Martino’s lack of long-range spacing and lower free-throw efficiency (41%) prevented them from staging a comeback.

Group B – Banja Luka (Obilicevo)

Albatros Split-Borča Partizan 1953 63-34 (8-4, 18-15, 19-9, 18-6)   FULL STATS

Albatros Split held a massive 78-to-14 team efficiency advantage and dominated the boards, winning the battle 62 to 51.

The story of the game was Mia Grgurevic’s absolute dominance. She put up a monster double-double, exploding for 24 points and a staggering 19 rebounds (6 offensive, 13 defensive). Grgurevic shot a highly efficient 50% from inside the arc and practically lived at the free-throw line, making 7 of her 15 attempts. Ana Zitko supported her with an efficient all-around game: 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Borca Partizan 1953 experienced a miserable night on the offensive end. The team shot a frigid 22% from two (14/63) and a dismal 6% from three (1/18). They struggled heavily against Split’s interior size, with their active blocks (8 blocks by Albatros) repeatedly denying them at the rim. Masa Djukic led the team with 10 points and 9 rebounds and was the lone player in double digits.

Group B – Sarajevo (Skenderija)

Play Off-Buducnost Olymp 37-52 (16-17, 9-17, 5-12, 7-6)   FULL STATS

In a low-scoring defensive battle, Play Off struggled to find offensive rhythm and consistency from the free-throw and three-point lines, while the hosts capitalized on second-chance opportunities to secure the victory.

Play Off shot a respectable 48% (13/27) from the 2-point range, matching Buducnost Olimp’s 47% inside the arc. However, outside shooting and free throws proved costly. Play Off connected on just 18% (2/11) of their three-pointers and shot a low 38% (5/13) from the charity stripe.

Buducnost Olymp controlled the glass, out-rebounding Play Off 35 to 22. The hosts pulled down 9 offensive rebounds, making it difficult for Play Off to limit second-chance looks.

Nur Mekic led Play Off’s scoring with 13 points and was the lone double-digit scorer. Play Off struggled to contain Buducnost Olimpija’s Anja Kasalica, who paced the hosts with 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting inside the arc, plus 4 rebounds and 4 steals.

Group B – Sarajevo (Ramiz Salcin)

Realway-Konjic 70-74 (16-19, 16-27, 21-16, 17-12)   FULL STATS

In a hard-fought contest, Realway narrowly fell to Konjic, 70-74. Despite a phenomenal, high-efficiency individual performance from Umma Sukic, Realway could not overcome Konjic’s massive dominance on the boards, which ultimately decided the game.

Realway found great success from beyond the arc, hitting 11-of-28 (39%) from the three-point line, compared to Konjic’s meager 2-of-9 (22%). Realway was also nearly flawless from the free-throw line, converting 7-of-8 (88%) attempts. However, Konjic dominated the inside game, shooting 49% (30/61) from the 2-point range, while Realway managed 38% (15/39).

The most decisive factor was rebounding. Konjic dominated the glass, 54 to 34. Crucially, Konjic pulled down 22 offensive rebounds, giving them numerous second-chance opportunities that wore down the Realway defense.

Realway moved the ball well, dishing out 13 assists (led by Sukic’s 6) and forcing 10 steals. They turned the ball over 18 times, slightly better than Konjic’s 23 turnovers.

Umma Sukic played all 40 minutes for Realway. She recorded a massive double-double with 33 points and 15 rebounds and shot 6/17 from the 2-point range, hit 5 highly valuable three-pointers (5/15), and went a perfect 6/6 from the free-throw line, finishing with a team-high efficiency rating of 33. Esma Kuric also logged a full 40 minutes, contributing 16 points and 4 assists. She provided great spacing, hitting 4-of-10 from three. Ajsa Veljovic added 11 points.

Realway had no answer for Konjic’s Lemana Saric, who scored 35 points on an efficient 16-of-27 shooting inside the arc while anchoring their interior game with 18 rebounds (8 offensive). Jana Mehic added 16 points, and Zerina Hadzajlija contributed 13 rebounds to secure the win for the visitors.
