Aleksandra Katanic Bolsters Beroe

Two-time WABA League champion Beroe continues to turn heads in the transfer market, locking in Serbian international point guard Aleksandra Katanic (172 cm, 1997) for the upcoming 2026/27 campaign.

Katanić is a familiar name to regional basketball fans, having a deeply decorated history within the WABA League, where she has already played four consecutive seasons between 2016 and 2020.

Over 66 career games in the regional competition, she has established herself as a premium playmaker, averaging 8.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.2 steals per game.

After three outstanding individual seasons with Crvena zvezda, her regional career reached its peak in the 2019/20 season, when she joined Budućnost Bemax and won the WABA League championship title. During that championship run, Katanić was an important piece of the puzzle, averaging 8.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists over 17 games, while shooting an impressive 40.6% from beyond the arc.

She enters Stara Zagora from Crvena zvezda where she averaged 7.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 3.0 steals in 26 Serbian League games last season.

Furthermore, her stellar play in recent years earned her a spot on the biggest stage of sports, representing the Serbian national team at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
