2026-27 WABA U15 League

Week 1, Day 2 (October 3)
Group A – Maribor (Tabor)

Maribor-Cinkarna Celje 51-69 (14-18, 14-28, 16-15, 7-8)   FULL STATS

Maribor showed strong fighting spirit throughout the game, particularly on the boards, where they collected a solid 45 rebounds. However, the home team’s main obstacle was its perimeter shooting. Maribor converted only 2 of 13 attempts from beyond the three-point arc (15%). This allowed Celje’s aggressive defense to collapse inside and build a decisive lead. Maribor’s 27 turnovers proved costly, as the experienced visitors capitalized in transition and racked up 20 steals.

Lara Skandali carried the scoring load for the home team, spending over 32 minutes on the court to drop a team-high 18 points (including an efficient 9-of-11 from the free-throw line), while also adding 9 rebounds and 4 assists (efficiency index of 16).

Maribor’s biggest impact came from the incredibly resilient Meta Besedic. Playing nearly the entire game (39:32 minutes), she contributed 8 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, dished out 3 assists, and recorded 4 steals. Lana Skandali was Maribor’s only other double-digit scorer, with 10 points.

The visitors were propelled by an unstoppable performance from Ajda Praper, who finished with her first triple-double in the WABA U15 League with 27 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 steals. Celje also saw strong double-digit contributions from Anaja Zagorc (15 points, 10 rebounds), Deja Dunovic (14 points), and Uma Kotnik (13 points).

Janina-Tresnjevka 2009 76-40 (22-14, 13-11, 28-9, 13-6)   FULL STATS

Janina’s aggressive, relentless three-point shooting defined the game. Coach Kos’s squad attempted a staggering 47 shots from beyond the arc, converting 11 of them (23%). In sharp contrast, Tresnjevka 2009 struggled heavily to find space from the perimeter, going 0-for-8 from three-point range. While the Croatian team controlled the rebounding battle (51 to 35), their offensive flow was completely disrupted by Janina’s perimeter pressure, causing Tresnjevka to commit 44 turnovers, which Janina converted into 30 steals.

Four players scored in double digits for Janina in a well-balanced team showcase. Anabela Krumpak put up a highly impactful performance, leading the squad with 17 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and a phenomenal 10 steals. Amanda Vreze provided incredible efficiency, banking 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. Ana Limbek anchored the playmaking with 10 points, 4 rebounds, and 10 steals, matching Krumpak’s defensive mastery. Milica Jelicic added a spark off the bench with 11 points on an efficient 4-of-5 from two-point range.

For Trešnjevka 2009, Lucija Dejanovic fought hard down low to log a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds, alongside 3 blocks. Sasa Podobnik was the only other visiting player in double figures, contributing 11 points and 7 rebounds. However, their inside efforts were not enough to counter Janina’s heavy defensive pressure and transition offense.

Group A – San Martino di Lupari (PalaLupe)

San Martino-Futurosa #Forna 73-46 (17-16, 23-10, 13-12, 20-8)   FULL STATS

The defining story of the regional matchup game was San Martino’s absolute supremacy under the boards. The home squad pulled down an incredible 75 total rebounds (including 24 offensive boards), completely neutralizing Futurosa #Forna, who managed 51.

This physical dominance allowed San Martino to generate constant second-chance opportunities, offsetting their own 48 turnovers. Futurosa #Forna struggled to find space against San Martino’s interior presence, shooting a low 27% from two and just 10% from beyond the arc (3-of-29).

San Martino relied heavily on a balanced inside game, highlighted by two standout individual performances: Giorgia Fantinato carried the primary scoring load, dropping a team-high 21 points alongside 8 rebounds and Alice Argentiero anchored the paint with a massive double-double, recording 16 points and a game-high 12 rebounds while shooting 62% from the field (efficiency index of 15).

Anna Frigo chipped in with an efficient 12 points in just 15 minutes of action, while Arianna Forner mirrored Argentiero’s effort on the glass by matching her with 12 rebounds to go along with 6 points.

For Futurosa #Forna, Micol Pribac fought valiantly to keep her team afloat, logging a double-double with a game-high 24 points and 12 rebounds. However, she lacked offensive support, as Michelle Motta was the team’s next highest scorer with just 9 points. San Martino’s overwhelming size advantage and interior defense ultimately turned the game into a one-sided affair.

Arx Crikvenica-Jezica 63-83 (12-20, 22-10, 13-22, 16-31)   FULL STATS

The defining factor was Jezica’s high-octane efficiency inside the arc, converting a stellar 31-for-54 (57%) on two-point attempts. The home squad completely dominated the glass, pulling down an incredible 64 total rebounds (including 20 second-chance opportunities on the offensive end). This interior wall left Crikvenica with very few options, forcing the visitors to rely heavily on perimeter shots, where they struggled at a low 17% (4-of-24).

Viktorija Jovanov put on a masterclass for Jezica, finishing with a game-high 29 points and 8 rebounds on a phenomenal 13-of-19 shooting from two-point range. Jezica also saw strong double-digit contributions from Ana Todorovic, who neared a double-double with 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 steals, while Sara Hiti added 13 points and 6 boards. Ema Triller did the heavy lifting under the glass, securing a team-high 11 rebounds.

For Arx Crikvenica, Vita Turina carried the primary scoring load, spending nearly 39 minutes on the court to score 22 points. However, she lacked sufficient offensive support to counter Jezica’s balanced attack. Ema Kikic fought hard down low to record a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Lara Vuleta chipped in 13 points.

Group B – Banja Luka (Obilicevo)

Feniks-Albatros Split 69-78 (13-20, 18-24, 18-8, 16-13 – 4-13) OT   FULL STATS

In an unforgettable WABA U15 League encounter, Albatros Splitsecured a hard-fought 78-69 victory over Feniks after a grueling overtime battle. While the intense, high-stakes game kept fans on the edge of their seats, the night belonged to a historic, record-breaking individual performance.

Albatros Split’s Mia Grgurevic put on a masterclass that will be remembered for years. In her first WABA U15 League appearance, Grgurevic dominated the interior, shattering the all-time league record with an unbelievable 35 rebounds (20 offensive, 15 defensive).

Her 35 rebounds stand as the highest single-game total in the WABA U15 League since the 2016/17 season, when complete statistical tracking began. She broke the previous record of 31 rebounds, which was jointly held by Tea Josipovic (Brod na Savi) and Jite Sophia Gbemoutor (Cinkarna Celje). Grgurevic paired this historic rebounding feat with 27 points and 6 blocks, posting a staggering efficiency index of 63 over 44 minutes.

The match itself was a fierce tug-of-war. Feniks relied heavily on Mitra Mandic’s offensive volume, who poured in a game-high 28 points, while Anja Sljivic added 17 points and 9 rebounds. Feniks fought valiantly on the glass, matching Albatros’s intensity with 63 total rebounds, including a team-high 16 from Sofija Curguz off the bench.

However, Albatros Split’s superior efficiency inside the arc (48% on two-point field goals compared to Feniks’s 33%) and the extra possessions generated by Grgurevic’s historic night proved the difference in the extra period. Ana Zitko played all 45 minutes for the winning side, delivering a vital 25 points and 10 rebounds to help Grgurevic carry the scoring load.

Feniks-Jumper 43-41 (12-11, 5-10, 11-13, 15-7)   FULL STATS

In a hard-fought, defensive matchup both teams struggled to find their offensive rhythm, resulting in a low-scoring affair where board grit and defensive resilience made the difference.

Feniks struggled with shooting efficiency all night, converting just 25% of their two-pointers (13/53) and 19% from beyond the arc (3/16). However, Mitra Mandic led the team with 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. Anja Sljivic also played a pivotal role, anchoring the offense with 13 points and grabbing 8 rebounds. On the glass, Zara Terzic was a dominant force, pulling down a team-high 12 rebounds along with 5 points, while Sofija Curguz added 10 rebounds to help Feniks control the paint.

Jumper put up a fierce fight, heavily out-rebounding Feniks 57 to 48, thanks in large part to individual double-doubles. Viktorija Tomic delivered a stellar performance for Jumper, leading all scorers with 16 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Ranija Mujakovic was equally impressive on the boards, securing a game-high 14 rebounds alongside her 9 points. Despite their dominance on the glass, Jumper’s outside shooting let them down, as they hit only 4 of 27 three-point attempts (15%).

Borca Partizan 1953-Jumper 54-43 (16-19, 12-6, 6-7, 20-11)   FULL STATS

Both teams struggled to find offensive consistency, turning the contest into a physical, defensive battle where Borca Partizan’s perimeter execution ultimately made the difference.

Offensive efficiency was hard to come by for both squads, but Borca Partizan 1953 found a crucial edge from the outside. Serbian team knocked down 8 three-pointers on 31% shooting, while shooting just 24% inside the arc. Jumper, meanwhile, found it even tougher to establish an interior presence against Borca’s defense, hitting just 7-of-37 (19%) of their two-point attempts. Although Jumper controlled the glass with 61 total rebounds, their 26 turnovers constantly halted their momentum and allowed Borca Partizan 1953 to stay in control.

The standout performer for the winning side was Lana Dragicevic, who came off the bench to inject vital energy. She logged a game-high 20 points while sinking 5-of-12 attempts from beyond the three-point arc and pulling down 8 rebounds. Starter Helena Nasteski anchored the playmaking and floor leadership, adding 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists. Emilija Isailovic also made her presence felt inside, anchoring the defense with 9 rebounds.

For Jumper, Viktorija Tomic and Hena Mačkic shared the scoring load, each adding 12 points, with Tomic also adding 10 rebounds for a double-double. Ranija Mujakovic fought aggressively in the paint to score 10 points and grab 10 rebounds. Still, their collective shooting woes from the field (under 24% overall) kept them from staging a successful comeback.

Group B – Sarajevo (Skenderija)

Play Off-Konjic 44-50 (12-7, 17-7, 6-23, 9-13)  FULL STATS

In a tightly contested Bosnia matchup, Konjic erased a 17-point deficit to beat Play Off. The game became a grueling defensive struggle, and Konjic’s superior inside efficiency ultimately tipped the scales in their favor.

Both sides struggled to establish an offensive rhythm, but Konjic found their advantage deeper in the paint. Coach Ravnjak’s squad converted 46% of their two-point field goals (19-of-41), while their three-point shooting was ice-cold at 1-of-10. While Play Off dominated the rebounding battle (45 to 33 total rebounds, including 17 offensive boards), 30 turnovers heavily disrupted their offensive flow. Konjic capitalized aggressively on these mistakes, racking up a striking 20 steals over the course of the match.

The winning side was propelled by an energetic performance from Lemana Saric, who played all 40 minutes to drop a game-high 18 points while adding 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Jana Mehic supported her with an efficient 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting inside the arc, matching Saric with a game-high efficiency index of 18.

For Play Off, Mirna Babic led the scoring effort off the bench with 11 points and 5 rebounds, while Ajla Buturovic added 10 points. Center Sofija Mrdic did the heavy lifting under the glass, securing a game-high 11 rebounds to give Play Off constant second-chance opportunities. However, the team’s struggles from the free-throw line (4-of-13, 31%) and high turnover rate kept them from executing a successful late-game comeback.

Group B – Sarajevo (Ramiz Salcin)
