Beroe u polufinalu na Budućnost Bemax

Pobedom protiv Athlete Celje sa 93:60 u poslednjem kolu regularnog dela sezone je Beroe osvojio 2.mesto te će u polufinalu igrati protiv Budućnosti Bemaxa. Drugi par završnice je Montana 2003-Athlete Celje.

Атлете започна по-силно в първите минути като поведе с 13-6, но постепенно Келиндра Закъри върна Берое в мача. Домакините изиграха още по-силно втора четвърт като добре с включи Милена Томова и на почивката тимът на Гатева поведе с 15 точки. След почивката Берое вдигна още по-убедително преднината си като след третата тя бе над 20 точки, а до края стигна 30.

Берое имаше много по-силен процент на стрелба от средно разстояние – 24/42 (57%) срещу 14/43 (32%) на съперника. Бронзовите медалистки от Купа България допуснаха 18 грешки по-малко – 13 срещу 31. Българките показаха много по-отборна игра и направиха цели 18 асистенции повече – 29 срещу 11.

Bulgarian side Beroe locked up second place in the 2016/17 WABA Superleague as crushed Athlete Celje 93-60 in the game of Round 8 and will face reigning champion Buducnost Bemax in the semifinals. In the second game will play regular season champion Montana 2003 and Athlete Celje.

Celje used an early 8-0 run to build a 13-5 lead, but Beroe responded with a 16-3 run to go up 22-16 late in the first quarter and never looked back from there. The home team went on a 9-2 run to extend their advantage to 37-26 and led by as many as 16 points before the halftime break. Beroe made several runs in the second half-time, too. They scored nine consecutive points for a 62-39 lead and later went on a 12-0 run spanning the third and fourth quarters to make it 77-46.

Kellindra Zackery finished with 20 points, Milena Tomova added 15 and Gabriela Nikolova 14. Celje outrebounded Beroe 45-31, picking up 17 offensive boards, but the had 31 turnovers to Beroe’s only 13. Ksenija Mitric and Eva Stefanoski both came off the bench for 12 points apiece, Iva Slonjsak scored 10 points and Althea Gwashavanhu grabbed 10 rebounds. Celje shot better behind the arc (9-of-20, 45-percent) than from 2-point range (14-of-43, 33-percent).
